:: WP Challenge Day 4 - Integrity ::

Happy Friday, everyone!  I don't know about the rest of you, but I need this weekend badly.  It seems as though every aspect of my life is on overdrive right now - work, home, family, fun-stuff, blog...the break will be welcome and we're going to focus on true rest.  Last night I was blessed to attend a Moms2Moms group at our church for the first time - I came home excited and refreshed and so thankful for the community of mamas that God has placed in my life for encouragement and partnership!  I highly recommend that you plug into a group like this at your church - or even with a small group of mamas from your neighborhood or workplace.  For me, there's the added bonus that four of the incredible girls in our Warrior Prayer group are also from my church and were at the Moms2Moms meeting :: shout out to the beautiful Brooke, Jacie, Kelly, and Tara!  Love you, girls!

On to today's topic :: integrity.  Here is some of Brooke's encouragement for us:

"Integrity can be defined as firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values or the quality or state of being complete or undivided.  Someone who stands up for what is right no matter who is around.  I have a feeling that integrity is probably caught rather than bought.  As our sons see us in situations that demand a choice to walk in integrity, we can create natural, life-giving conversations explaining to them why we chose the way we did.  Life is full of opportunities to choose the easy way instead of the way of integrity, but a man of integrity "ponders the way that is blameless" (Psalm 101:2).  Pausing to help our sons understand why we chose the way of integrity over what might have seemed to be a better or easier way trains their minds to ponder the blameless way."

Who are you when no on is looking?  Oh, what a convicting question to ask yourself and even now, I find myself wanting to avoid that piercing look into my heart.  Lord, make my husband and I people of our word, a man and woman of steadfast integrity.  May our Lion Cub grow up seeing his parents walk in Truth and take a stand for the Right when it seems easier to go down a different path.  Help us also create safe boundaries around our hearts and family to keep out that which is lacking in integrity.  Please guard us from those who would seek to derail us in our walk with You.  And may we never be a stumbling block to others in their pursuit of living a life of integrity!

Before we dive into our assignment, please take a moment to read Brooke's (author of Warrior Prayers) latest post - it gives us a little peek into her life and I'd love if we could add to our prayers today an extra measure of thankfulness and request for healing on her behalf.  I have grown to love this woman so much over the past few months and am incredibly thankful for her friendship and guidance.  As I have indicated in the past few emails, this season for her provides an opportunity for us to gather up some of the members from her group (please make them feel welcome - we're now over 60 and counting) and will mean a little extra coordination/backtracking as I get it all set-up and try to coordinate reminders, etc.  Again, thank you for your patience and grace as I work through it all.
